DIPLOMA OF EQUINE TACTILE THERAPYPrerequisite: Equine Sports Therapy Subjects Covered Module One Anatomy & Physiology for Remedial Therapists Complementary Tactile Therapy - Shiatsu, Bowen Holistic Therapies Equine Health Module Two Nutrition Biomechanics Therapeutic Massage Rehabilitative Training Practical Requirements 1 x Five day Practical Intensive - Bowen, Shiatsu & Rehabilitation 1 x Five week Practical Intensive - Remedial Massage Therapy Two Week Supervised Management component at practical intensive. 80 hours external practical work Case Studies in Gait Analysis, Rehabilitation and Remedial Massage Total Hours 800 Hours run over two semesters (approx. 12 months). CERTIFICATE OF EQUINE HEALTH Subjects Covered Module One Anatomy & Physiology Conformation and Movement Equine Handling & Behaviour Module Two Anatomy & Physiology - Internal Systems Equine Health Holistic Therapies Rehabilitative Training Module Three Equine Nutrition Hoof Health & Care Business Management Practical Requirements Internet Tutorials Case Studies using a holistic approach to equine health care. Rehabilitation project. CERTIFICATE OF EQUINE NATURAL THERAPYThis course is designed to provide equine carers with extensive education in equine health including the use of herbs, tissue salts and Bach therapy and complementary tactile therapies. Subjects Delivered Module One: Anatomy & Physiology Equine Health Equine Hoof Care Module Two: Holistic Therapies Equine Nutrition Business Management Practical Requirements Case Studies Total Hours 460 hours (Approx 12 months) Fees: Full fee for Certificate of Equine Natural Therapy: $3850.00 Amount Due on enrolment: $1570.00 Plus 6 instalments of $380.00 payable monthly Course fees cover all subject fees Students are required to cover any text books they wish to purchase. Outcome: Following completion of this course, graduates will be able to deliver basic natural equine health care using the modalities of Bach Flowers Tissue Salts, and Nutrition. The graduate can place the initials CerEqNat(ACATT) or CEN(ACATT) after their name. CERTIFICATE OF EQUINE NUTRITIONThis course is designed to provide equine carers with extensive education in equine nutrition, including anatomy, health and clinical nutrition. Subjects Covered Module One: Anatomy & Physiology of Internal Systems Equine Clinical Nutrition Equine Health Business Management Practical Requirements Case Studies Total Hours: 280 hours (approx 6 months) Fees: Full fee for Certificate of Equine Nutrition: $2050.00 Amount due on enrolment $1150.00 plus 3 instalments of $300.00 payable monthly. Students who elect to pay in full on enrolment gain a 10% discount making the fees due $1845.00. Outcome: Following completion of this course, graduates will be able to develop their equine nutrition business, and provide logical nutritional advice to clients. Graduates can place the initials Cert. Eq.Nutrit (ACATT), or CEqNut(ACATT) after their name. CERTIFICATE OF HORSE HANDLINGOffered to those people that work with horses, such as strappers, equine handlers, trainers, riding instructors, farriers, stable hands and masseurs that have completed a basic massage course and wish to extend their health care knowledge. Subjects Covered Module One: Anatomy & Physiology Equine Nutrition Equine Handling and Behaviour Equine Conformation and Movement Module Two: Business Management Equine Health Equine Rehabilitation Exercise Physiology Total Hours: 500 hours (approx 12 months) Fees: Full fee for Certificate of Horse Handling: $4240.00 Amount due on enrolment $1960.00 plus 6 instalments of $380.00 payable monthly. Fees includes costs of all modules and a Video Gait Analysis Computer Based Program Students who elect to pay in full on enrolment gain a 10% discount making the fees due $3816.00. Outcome: Successful completion will provide graduates with the skills which will enable them to become an integral part of the Equine Training Management team at their workplace. CERTIFICATE OF EQUINE TRAINING & REHABILITATIONSubjects Covered Module One: Equine Movement and Conformation Equine Handling and Behaviour Equine Rehabilitation Module Two Equine Health Equine Hoof Care Total Hours: 400 Hours Fees: Full fee for Certificate of Equine Training and Rehabilitation: $3230.00 Amount due on enrolment $1330.00 plus 5 instalments of $380.00 payable monthly Fees include all Module costs and a Video Gait Analysis Computer Based Program Students who elect to pay in full on enrolment gain a 10% discount making the fees due $2907.00. Outcome: Students will gain the necessary theory to become and integral part of the training team including returning horse from rest or injury to training. The above fees do not include costs for accommodation at the practical intensive. We arrange accommodation for students, at Quest Serviced Apartments, the cost of which is reasonable however varies dependant on the number of students requiring this service. Our professional courses produce Equine Therapists who at all times combine professionalism and respect for the animal. Our graduates have extensive knowledge of equine anatomy, physiology and locomotion as you would expect from any professional equine therapist, the tactile therapy students also gain expertise in exercise physiology, specialized massage techniques, equine health, nutrition and equine rehabilitation. All students are welcome to attend the practical intensive sessions multiple times if desired, and it is a requirement for Diploma students to gain supervisory and educational experience while supervising the Introductory and sports therapy practical intensives. External practical experience is a further component of our courses, this allows students to develop their professional and industry skills. These courses were developed by The Australian College of Animal Tactile Therapy in response to industry demand for professional, knowledgeable and highly skilled Equine Massage and Physical Therapy Specialists. Students can elect to do all subjects concurrently or do a less number of subjects each semester to suit thieir lifestyle. Assessment is by practical demonstration, study questions, theoretical tests and case studies. Students that successfully complete all assessment items within their certificate or diploma will receive an award stating so.
